A battle breaks out on the checkered field between “Little My Chair”, who oversees from her vantage point situated high up on the wall, and “Geometric Holly Hobby” who only appears through the actions of the bows that belong to her. Lapinsky positions these children’s characters as competing feminist objects in a narrative that is palpable yet coded with references to other artists, retro forms, materials, and even her own past exhibitions. Every object, sculpture, or part of the installation plays a role to be unraveled by the viewer.
