The main gallery at New Image Art presents an exhibition curated by Danny Gibson, titled, Friends, Do Not Fear, featuring work by about twenty-six artists well known in the local Los Angeles exhibition circuit and beyond.

The back project room hosts a modest solo showing of several of Gibson’s large-scale works on raw canvas, where he uses his signature materials of charcoal and sumi ink, but this time introducing subtle dapples of color with watercolor pencil. There is a Modernist sensibility in his style, abstracting and combining figures, objects and elements of nature. Yet, they are uniquely contemporary in their references to different cultures as he often employs imagery of pottery and bulls as signifiers, approaching their function with a slight sense of humor.
