Weird, hot

May 18July 8, 2006  |  Evergreene (Geneva)

Evergreene is very pleased to present recent works by Parisian-based artist Delphine Coindet, from May 18 to July 8, 2006.

Artifices, enactments and paradoxes are words commonly used when describing aspects of Delphine Coindet's sculptures. One of these paradoxes is found in her quest to imagine and create tangible and sensible objects while always insisting on the dematerialization of elements constitutive of traditional sculptures. Delphine Coindet's objects, composed of synthetic surfaces and generating "trompe-l'oeil" effects , encounter reflective and other lightning plays. The works define themselves essentially in terms of precarious balance, suspension, random dispersion and collapse. They provoke an unsettledness, as they inscribe themselves in space through an unforeseeable and abrupt manner, almost as if their existence is coincidence or accident.

Evergreene is also pleased to announce that Delphine Coindet is invited by the gallery to present a «Solo Show» at LISTE O6, in Basel, from June 13 to June 18, 2006.
